In a heartfelt tribute to the late Nigerian footballer, FC Porto has honored his memory by holding a ceremony in his honor.
The club's president, Jorge Mendes, said: "We at FC Porto are deeply saddened by the loss of our friend and colleague, Victor Omuorodion."
He added: "His passion for football was contagious and he will be greatly missed by all those who knew him."
Omorodion was a former striker who played for several clubs including FC Porto and Chelsea.
He scored 11 goals in four matches for Portugal during the 2016 European Championship,Chinese Super League Matches helping them reach the final before losing to England.
Omorodion died on Sunday after suffering a heart attack while playing for his club, Enyimba.
The news of his death sent shockwaves through the football world and tributes poured in from around the globe.
"Victor Omuorodion was a true champion," said FIFA President Gianni Infantino.
"He brought joy and inspiration to many people around the world through his talent and dedication to the sport."
Omorodion's family said they were grateful for the outpouring of support and thanked everyone for their condolences.
They also asked for privacy as they deal with the loss of their loved one.
The club has now held a memorial service in his honor and plans to hold more events in the coming days.
"We will always remember Victor as a great player and a wonderful person," said Mendes.
"We are grateful for the time we had together and we will miss him dearly."
