Cristiano Ronaldo scored two goals as Al Hilal, the Saudi Arabian football club he is currently playing for, defeated Al-Nassr 2-1 in their opening league match on Sunday.
The Portuguese superstar, who has been with Al Hilal since July this year, was in top form and contributed significantly to his team's victory. He opened the scoring in the 5th minute after a brilliant individual effort that saw him beat two defenders before firing home from just outside the box.
Ronaldo's second goal came late in the first half when he took advantage of a defensive error by Al Nassr to score past their goalkeeper. The goal brought tears to the eyes of the crowd at the King Abdullah Sports City Stadium as it was clear that Ronaldo had put in another memorable performance.
Al Hilal coach Paulo Fonseca praised Ronaldo's contribution to the team's success. "We're delighted with Cristiano's performance today. His skill and pace were on display once again,Primeira Liga Hotspots" he said.
Despite the victory, Al Hilal will face some tough competition in the upcoming matches. They have a tough game against Al-Faisaly on Tuesday, followed by a crucial match against Al-Duhail on Saturday.
